Design That Lets Details Shine
When we first saw this home, its bold orange exterior overpowered everything else. The architecture was beautiful, but the color distracted from it. Convincing the owners to paint it white was the first step in transforming the property. The new palette instantly gave the home a timeless elegance and allowed its details to stand out. One of the most extraordinary features was the mature magnolia tree in the front yard. Its size and beauty already commanded attention, so the landscaping needed to complement rather than compete with it. We designed a plan that paired deer-resistant plantings with a more traditional arrangement, creating a frame for the tree and reinforcing the grand appeal of the home.

Designed for Everyday Life
Functionality was just as important as aesthetics. The original garage doors were too low to comfortably fit today's larger family vehicles. By raising them, we solved a daily frustration while preserving the home's architectural integrity. Homes built in another era often need subtle adjustments to work for modern life.
Function & Character
Equally remarkable is the enclosed sunroom, a space that honors the home's history while being thoughtfully modernized for today. The original stonework was preserved to celebrate its charm, while new finishes brought in clarity, brightness, and functionality. The result is a space that feels both timeless and fresh—an ideal retreat that connects seamlessly to the gardens beyond. The result was a property that kept its classic character while feeling fresh, functional, and thoughtfully updated. It now reflects both the grace of its history and the needs of the owners who will live there today.
